“A new pump ready to provide drinking water”
The article “Une nouvelle pompe prête à alimenter en eau potable” details the installation of
two new water pumps in Serrouville, France. The pump, measuring seven meters in length,
draws water from a depth of 70 meters and replaces two older pumps. This upgrade aims to
enhance the efficiency and reliability of water extraction, supplying drinking water to around
200,000 people.
Manufactured by Pleuger Industrie France, the new pump meets high standards for continuous
operation and requires minimal maintenance, with a lifespan of about 15 years. Eric Larroque,
managing director of Pleuger France, highlights the capacities of the new pump: “The motor
has a voltage of 1000 volts and a power of 475 kW, which means it can pump up to 600m³ per
hour.”
The installation process was complex due to the need for precision and continuous water
supply. Local authorities emphasize the advanced technology of the new pump and the
importance of sourcing water from reliable locations to ensure a stable and clean water supply
for the community.
They also noted that, due to the sector’s lack of local water sources, it was necessary to find
water elsewhere, underscoring the importance of reliable sourcing to meet the community’s
needs.
